As part of the global Oxfam family, Oxfam Cymru is a partner to communities across Wales and around the world tackling poverty, recognising that it can occur anywhere, to anyone.
We believe that when people come together, change comes about. We’re striving for a world where all of us are empowered with exactly what we need to thrive.
Oxfam Cymru works in partnership with others to drive change in and from Wales.
Too often, the work done mainly by women – whether it is paid or not – simply isn’t valued highly enough. This leaves too many women in poverty.
Wales has always been a world leader in many ways. Today, global solidarity from Cymru is very much needed: for the first time in 25 years, extreme poverty and inequality are once again on the rise across the globe and at home.
People who’ve done the least to cause the climate crisis are being pushed deeper into poverty, fighting for their lives due to extreme and unpredictable weather.
More than 1 in 5 people in Cymru face the injustice of poverty, with an even higher proportion (more than 1 in 3) of children living in poverty.
